Ken Love Awarded Clip Photographer of the Year for 2007 by the Ohio News Photographers Association

AKRON, OH – February 19, 2008 – Akron photographer Ken Love was named Clip Photographer of the Year for 2007 based on points accumulated in the Ohio Newspaper Photographers Association’s monthly clip contest. Love was also honored with the “Award of Excellence” by the association for his outstanding work over the past year in the Ohio News Photographer of the Year competition.
“I was competing against many other top professional newspaper photographers statewide,” explained Ken Love, owner and lead photographer for Ken Love Photography. “I believe it was my ability to see artistically when I compose the shot visually that made the difference.”

Ken Love received a total of 814 points to finish in first place. Second place Neal C. Lauron of The Columbus Dispatch had 754 points and third place Gus Chan of The Cleveland Plain Dealer had 518 points. The 57th annual contest was judged Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16 at Kent State University. It included work from 98 photographers who submitted 1,404 entries.
He has more than 20 years of photo-journalism experience as an award-winning staff photographer at five newspapers around the United States.
