Taylor & Yaquinto Design’s Creative Director Wins Top Award in Regional Graphic Design Contest
AKRON, OHIO (Fri April 4, 2008) — Todd Yaquinto, Creative Director for the full service design and advertising firm of Taylor & Yaquinto Design, was recently recognized for winning the top award for his original artwork at a regional fund-raiser sponsored by Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio held at the LUX nightclub in Akron.
“We are delighted with Todd’s award winning design, which will become the theme for many of our promotional materials for 2008,” explained Julie Ransom Chaney, Regional Director of Development for Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio. “In addition to winning first prize, he generated significant charitable donations by allowing the original art to be sold during our silent auction.”
His winning design was inspired by celebrity Pee Wee Herman and featured a clever headline that helped to reinforce the use of condoms. This year’s contest theme, “Totally Awesome 80’s”, was a perfect match for the talented Yaquinto, who is known for bringing new, modern design elements to an existing look. His submission was judged by a panel of experts and was among more than 30 entries selected for judging during the annual fund-raising contest.
The original art, which was framed and auctioned during the fund-raiser, will be used on promotional materials such as key chains and matchbook-sized condom covers to promote the message of safe sex and help to reduce the large numbers of people with STDs, AIDS and unplanned pregnancies.
Yaquinto, who lives in Tallmadge with his wife and son, has worked as a designer at Taylor and Yaquinto Design for over 7 years.
