Max Q, the International Barbershop Quartet Champions, to perform in Solon at a special benefit concert November 6, 2009
Solon High School Music In Motion Show Choir is proud to announce its upcoming benefit concert on November 6, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Solon High School Auditorium, 33600 Inwood Road, Solon, OH 44139. A highly energetic and entertaining musical evening is planned featuring Max Q, the 2007 International Barbershop Quartet Champions; The Greater Cleveland Chorus, an award-winning women’s barbershop chorus; Solon High School Music in Motion and Solon High School Quartets.
Max Q formed in 2002 and is now the most harmonized and decorated quartet champion in the 70-year history of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The group is specifically notable in that all four members have prior experience in championship-level quartets and choruses. Max Q members are: Greg Clancy – tenor, Tony DeRosa – lead, Gary Lewis – baritone, and Jeff Oxley – bass. Between the four men they’ve earned over 25 gold medals for various chorus and quartet championships.
Founded in 1985, Music In Motion is a non-profit organization that features an auditioned ensemble of singer/dancers, instrumentalists, and crew members. Each year Music In Motion represents Solon High School at a variety of community, holiday, festival, and competition events, and has received many awards throughout the years.
