The Friction Materials Manufacturer Appoints Three Engineering Interns
AKRON, OHIO (August 12, 2013) – GMP Friction Products, a leading manufacturer of clutch plate brake pads friction materials, hired three interns for the summer. Engineering majors Edward Armentrout, Andrew Joseph Leppo and Adam C. Seal will utilize their studies and talents, while contributing to several departments at the friction products manufacturer.

We’re looking forward to giving them an opportunity to learn from us, while giving them career experience and developing their skill sets.”
Seal attends The Ohio State University and will graduate in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Armentrout received his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Akron and has experience with computer-aided-design software. Leppo, an honors graduate from Walsh Jesuit High School, will begin pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree at Case Western Reserve University, with a minor in Business Management this fall.
At GMP Friction Products, the interns are working to create automation projects using a robot and organize furnace line separators. They are also conducting dynamometer testing sequences, in addition to other areas of engineering and manufacturing at the friction materials plant.
