Twinsburg Board of Education Names Two Superintendent Finalists, Community Town Hall March 10

The Twinsburg City School District Board of Education has narrowed its superintendent search to two finalists: Shelley Monachino, current Superintendent of Springfield Local Schools, and Dr. Sandy Womack Jr., recently retired from Columbus City Schools. A community town hall is scheduled for March 10 at Twinsburg High School.

The Twinsburg City School District Board of Education has announced two finalists for the district''s superintendent position following a national search conducted in partnership with Finding Leaders. The Finalists: Shelley Monachino currently serves as Superintendent of Springfield Local Schools in Summit County. She brings extensive experience in district leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement. Throughout her career, she has focused on building strong relationships with staff, families, and community stakeholders while leading initiatives that support student achievement, organizational stability, and the long-term success of school districts. Dr. Sandy Womack Jr. is a recently retired educational leader who most recently served as a Region Superintendent and Urban School Transformation Specialist with Columbus City Schools. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his leadership in improving academic outcomes, strengthening school performance, and advancing student achievement across diverse school communities while supporting educators and building systems focused on long-term student success. Search Process: - The Board worked with national search firm Finding Leaders - Five candidates were initially interviewed - Four advanced to a second round - District central office and administrative leadership met with candidates as part of evaluation - Two finalists were selected from the second round Community Town Hall: - Location: Twinsburg High School Auditorium - Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2026 - Doors Open: 5:30 PM - Question Submission: 5:45 PM - Town Hall Program: 6:00 - 7:00 PM - Facilitated by Finding Leaders - Community members can hear from finalists, submit questions, and provide feedback Both finalists will also participate in additional engagement opportunities with students and staff on March 10. "Our Board felt it was very important to create opportunities for our students, staff, and community members to have a voice in this process," said Board President Rhonda Crawford. "We are excited to introduce these two outstanding finalists and look forward to hearing feedback from our community as we work to select the next leader of Twinsburg City Schools." The Board of Education will conduct final interviews following the community forum and plans to announce a final selection shortly thereafter.
