Felony Drug Possession on Chestnut Avenue On March 18, 2026, NVPD officers initiated a traffic stop on Chestnut Avenue (SR 8 SB) for an improper turn and expired license plates . During the investigation, officers observed suspicious items in plain view, prompting a request for a K9 unit to perform a “free air sniff” . After a positive indication from the K9, a search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine, a scale, and a meth pipe concealed beneath the gear shifter panel . OVI Arrest and Northfield Road Traffic Safety Early on March 19, 2026, a patrol officer stopped a white Ram pickup near Northfield Road and Olde 8 Road for speeding and marked lanes violations . Upon contacting the driver, the officer noted signs of impairment and the odor of alcohol . Following Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was arrested and later submitted to a breath test, which recorded a .135 BAC .
