Felony Drug Possession Arrest on Chestnut Avenue The week began with a significant narcotics seizure on March 18, 2026 . Northfield Village officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 7:58 a.m. on Chestnut Avenue (SR 8 SB) for an improper turn and expired license plates . During the stop, officers observed suspicious items in plain view, leading to a K9 unit being called to the scene for a “free air sniff” . Following a positive indication from the K9, a search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, a scale, and a meth pipe concealed under the gear shifter panel . Both occupants were arrested and charged with fourth-degree felony drug possession . OVI Arrest and Impaired Driving Investigations Early on March 19, 2026, an officer on routine patrol stopped a white Ram pickup near Northfield Road and Olde 8 Road for speeding and marked lanes violations .
