Urban Meyer's Pint House Targets June Opening on Prospect Avenue

Business & Commerce — Cleveland

Urban Meyer's Pint House, a three-floor high-end pub in partnership with Saucy Brew Works, is set to open at 820 Prospect Ave. in downtown Cleveland this June, filling a space vacant since Winking Lizard closed in 2021.

Former Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer is bringing his restaurant concept to downtown Cleveland, with Urban Meyer's Pint House targeting a June 2026 opening at 820 Prospect Avenue. The three-floor establishment is being developed in partnership with Saucy Brew Works, the Cleveland-based craft brewery. The restaurant will feature high-end pub fare across multiple dining levels, with a menu that blends elevated comfort food with craft beer and cocktail programs. The 820 Prospect Avenue location has been vacant since the Winking Lizard Tavern closed in 2021. The space is being renovated extensively to accommodate the Pint House concept, which is expected to include a ground-floor bar and dining area, a second-floor dining room, and a rooftop or upper-level event space. The opening had originally been targeted for 2025 but was delayed due to construction and permitting timelines. The June 2026 opening would position the restaurant to capitalize on the summer entertainment season downtown. The partnership with Saucy Brew Works gives the Pint House a built-in craft beer program. Saucy Brew Works operates a production brewery and taproom in Ohio City and has established itself as one of Cleveland's most recognized craft beer brands. The Prospect Avenue corridor has seen mixed fortunes in recent years, with some restaurant closures offset by new openings. Urban Meyer's Pint House is expected to benefit from its proximity to Rocket Arena, Progressive Field, and the Playhouse Square theater district, all of which generate significant foot traffic during events. The restaurant is expected to create approximately 100 full-time and part-time jobs once fully operational.
