Layer Zero Power Systems Announces Major Expansion in Aurora and Streetsboro

Business & Commerce — Aurora

Layer Zero Power Systems is adding 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space across Aurora and Streetsboro, bringing 535 new jobs and a $26.1 million annual payroll to the area.

Layer Zero Power Systems, a manufacturer of critical power distribution and protection equipment, is undertaking a major expansion across its Aurora and Streetsboro operations that will add 120,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity. The expansion is expected to create 535 new jobs with a combined annual payroll of $26.1 million, making it one of the largest single-company job creation announcements in the Portage-Summit county corridor in recent years. Layer Zero's products serve data centers, hospitals, and other mission-critical facilities that require uninterruptible power supplies. The company's growth reflects surging national demand for data center infrastructure, driven by artificial intelligence workloads and cloud computing expansion. The new manufacturing space will support production of the company's proprietary static transfer switches, power distribution units, and related equipment. The company currently operates facilities in both Aurora and Streetsboro and will be expanding its footprint at both locations. Local economic development officials have pointed to the Layer Zero expansion as evidence that Northeast Ohio's advanced manufacturing sector remains competitive for high-tech growth. The project received support through state and local incentive packages, though specific terms have not been disclosed. Hiring for the new positions is expected to ramp up through 2026 and into 2027 as the expanded facilities come online.
