SOLON, Ohio – The Solon Police Department recently handled several incidents involving Solon police reports , including a resident being scammed out of money for a lawn mower and multiple arrests for drug possession and impaired driving . These reports highlight a mix of financial fraud, traffic-related contraband seizures, and a domestic violence arrest over the first week of March 2026 . Financial Fraud and the Solon Police Reports on Scams On March 4, a 38-year-old resident contacted officers after falling victim to a Craigslist scam . The victim attempted to purchase a 54-inch lawn mower and sent a $50 “hold” payment via CashApp . The suspect kemudian persuaded the victim to send an additional $100 for a Stihl leaf blower before severing all communication . Detectives are currently investigating the total loss of $150 . Marijuana and Contraband Seizures During Traffic Stops Several traffic stops on Aurora Road led to the discovery of illegal substances : March 5: An officer stopped a Nissan SUV for a window tint violation and discovered approximately 27 grams of marijuana . The 20-year-old driver from Cleveland was cited for drug possession and driving under suspension . March 6: A 20-year-old Cleveland driver was stopped for a headlight violation . Police recovered 38 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and an alcoholic beverage . The driver faces charges for drug possession, paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol . OVI Arrest and Fleeing Vehicles in Solon Police Reports Police activity also focused on road safety and high-speed incidents : High-Speed Flight: On March 5, a blue Dodge Challenger fled from an officer on Cannon Road, reaching high speeds and turning off its headlights to evade capture . The vehicle was last seen in Bedford Heights but could not be positively identified . OVI and Identity Fraud: On March 7, a 37-year-old woman was stopped for speeding 78 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 422 . After failing field sobriety tests and providing a false identity (her sister’s name), she was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, and furnishing false information . Domestic Violence Response on Stockwood Drive On the morning of March 8, officers arrived at a home on Stockwood Drive following reports of a physical domestic dispute between a husband and wife . A 34-year-old male was identified as the primary aggressor and arrested for domestic violence . No medical treatment was requested by either party at the scene .
